WRKE is Looking for New On-Air Staff

Interested in music, production, broadcasting, or communications? Ever wanted to have your own radio show? Then be apart of the largest staff of the back to back student org of the year and be a DJ for WRKE!

All are welcome and you don’t have to be a communications major or have any prior experience!

As a DJ, you can pick your own music genre, talk about whatever you would like (or nothing at all) and host by yourself or with friends of your choice.

“I have learned that I actually have a lot to say,” says Donte Branch ’18, co-host of “The Real Deal” a talk show that also features R&B and hip-hop music. “This radio show was started because issues were not being addressed from our perspective. As minorities, we feel that our voice should be heard, and what’s a better way to achieve that than actually using your voice? WRKE is a great way to channel your inner expressive self.”

“I love how much freedom WRKE gives us to be creative and make content that we think would be entertaining for other college students,” said Cara Basham, host of B-Side.

The Fall General Interest Meeting is Sunday, September the 2nd at 7:30pm in the Colket Ballroom!
For pizza, RSVP to emwilhelm@mail.roanoke.edu!
